Hello church family,
I would like to start this article by giving a huge “THANK YOU!“ to all of my Sunday morning children's teachers and Wednesday evening AWANA leaders.  You ALL are amazing.  Our children, families, and church are blessed to have you leading our children weekly with such love and passion.  Many of you have been dedicated teachers for decades and others are fairly new.  No matter how many years you have been pouring into this young generation, know that you are building the Kingdom of God by teaching, equipping and leading by example every week.  I pray that more and more adults are encouraged by your example and consider investing into our children the way you have.  Our children’s ministry is truly blessed by all of you.

We are closing in on VBS, June 25th - 29th 6-8:30 pm. Thank you to everyone that has signed up to help this summer!  We had our Vacation Bible School “Vision Casting” meeting at the end of April.  With over 50 volunteers   present I would say it was a success!  Our volunteers are  “Ready and Geared up” for the “Game On!” theme (that’s code for anything that has to with sports…).  Here are some facts to give you an idea of the impact Vacation Bible School has in communities. VBS started in 1898 and is used by more than 25,000 churches each year to reach 2.5 million people. Last year, more than 70,000 salvation decisions were reported as a direct result of VBS. Our church alone averages close to 200 registered children with 15-20 children making salvation decisions each summer.  In other words, VBS makes life changing differences in the life of a child.

VBS isn't just about fun, games, and snacks. Its primary purpose is leading people to experience the life-transforming power of the gospel.  Our online registration will be available mid May.  Parents, “Gear Up and Get Ready” to invest in your child’s spiritual growth by registering your child for   vacation bible school.  Thank you for allowing me to love on your little ones.

God Bless

Kids Happenings April 2018

Hello church family,

Well I would love to start this article with “Spring has sprung” but from what I can see that isn’t really the case.   Life would be so much easier if we could truly know what the seasons will actually look like.  I know many of you are in a season that you didn’t anticipate or one that may not look like the beautiful newness of spring but is still somewhat bearable.  I find myself in these seasons of life more often than I would prefer.  Unexpected house or car repairs, sickness, relationships that seem as though they are drifting away, emotions, responsibilities, and even loneliness.  These are the seasons that we pray will never come and when they do we pray they will soon end. Similar to this cold snowy season that will not seem to go away.

Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes that “for everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven” I paraphrase “to be born, to die, to plant, to harvest, to cry, to laugh, to grieve, to dance, to love, to hate….”  He also wrote “God has made everything beautiful for its own time.”  You see God uses seasons to show us that He is good and can “make everything beautiful for its own time”. Seasons good and bad are ways for God to capture our hearts and our faith.  He will change the season of life you are in when He‘s ready to change something about you.  There will be more difficult seasons to come, but the Lord just wants us to trust Him through each and every season. No matter what kind of season you are going through, you can remember that God always promises to make it beautiful in His time.

If you are going through a difficult season in your life know that God is working to make it beautiful and you also have a church family that is there for you.  Difficult seasons in life can be easier to bear when you have loved ones that help to share the burden.

Thank you for allowing me to love on your little ones.
God Bless
