November Women On Mission

main image

As we approach the end of this calendar year, I wanted to remind our members, as well as, inform the newer ones about our world Mission Club.  This is an  opportunity to give to missions on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis.  This is collected throughout the year and distributed at the end of the year, as follows:

  • Lottie Moon Christmas Offering 51.6%
  • Annie Armstrong Easter Offering 16.6%
  • Life Change Central (Oakhill Ministries) 10.0%
  • State Missions Offering 10.0%
  • State Camp Offering 8.8%

Our goal for 2015 is $ 25,000.

If you are not currently giving in this systematic way, please consider doing so in 2016.  Boxed envelopes are provided by the church.  You can designate World Missions
Offering on your envelope (This is over and above our tithes).  In addition, a special
offering is taken for Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and Annie Armstrong Easter
Offering which is added to the club receipts at the end of the year.

World Hunger Offering is a separate offering taken in the summer.

Women on Mission will meet at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 9th, at the home of Arletta Zarazee - 9830 Clippinger Road.  We will meet at the church at 6:40 p.m. and carpool to the meeting.  All our ladies are invited.

Receipts for the World Hunger Offering are $1,700.97.  Thanks to all the Oakhill families who gave to this important ministry.  We are told by Bread for the  world that more than 1 in 5 children in the U.S. (15.9 million) are affected by this problem.

We have been asked by the Evansville Rescue Mission to collect cake mix for their
annual Thanksgiving Gobbler Gathering.  We want to collect at least 600 boxes.  The cake mix may be left in the main lobby near the entrance beginning Sunday, October 4.  Deadline is Sunday, November 15.  We have been involved in this ministry since 1996, when we collected 740 cans of green beans.

On September 24 we shipped 92 stocking caps to the International Seafarer’s Center at the Port of Indiana.  N.E. Park Baptist sent 22 hats as well.  A special thanks to Betty Busch and Sondra Bottoms for the high quality hats they made in addition, Walmart gift cards were sent to purchase personal grooming items for the men.  Chaplain Bundren is very appreciative of our on going support.

Women on Mission will meet Monday, October 12 at 7:00 in Fellowship Hall.  All Our ladies are invited to join us.
