April Music Notes

Children’s Musical and Drama Event

It is almost time for our Children’s Easter Musical Event for 2015!  That may be hard to believe, but on Friday April 3^rd, our children will be presenting their Easter Musicals.  This year our children have had the opportunity to be a part of almost every aspect of the musical.  Some children are in the choir, some are soloists, some are part of the drama team, and others have been a part of the stage setup, costume designing, set building, and prop making.  Whew!  I am so proud of this tremendous group of kiddos and I also cannot say enough great things about the group of adult leaders that have poured their time and energy into both the kiddos and the musical.  Thank you to all of you!

As we near the date here are a few details for our remaining schedule:

• April 2^nd – Dress Rehearsal begins at 6:00.  Those in drama need to be
         there by 5:45 to get dressed in costume.
• April 3^rd – Everyone arrive and in place by 6:30.

 The performance is at 7:00. There will be a Cast Party and dinner after the musical is over.

Just a couple of other notes:

• Parents of 3 years to Kindergarten Choir – Your child will perform in the first group at the beginning of the program.  Once their performance is complete they will exit down the front steps and be released to go sit with their family.
• Following the program there will be a cast party and dinner for all of the children involved in the musical as a celebration for all of their hard work and effort.  Please make sure your child is in the Fellowship Hall
  within fifteen minutes following the conclusion of the program.  This should last about an hour.

Please continue to pray for the kids as they prepare to lead us in worship.  Also, please pray for the leadership team as they continue to invest their time and talents into the lives of these kids.  It is such a blessing to see and hear all of these kiddos praise God with their gifts.  All of this preparation culminates on Good Friday Night, April 3, 2015 at 7:00 PM, when our children will be leading us in a special night of worship and celebration of the Risen Savior.  Please come out and support our kids and be sure to invite your friends and family.  It is going to be a special night!

April Kids Happenings

Hello Church Family,

           Spring is finally here!  I wrote in my newsletter last month that, “Spring is a time when worms begin to emerge from the earth, ladybugs land on screen doors, green buds appear, birds chirp, and flowers begin to bloom”.  Well, these past few weeks I can joyfully say that I was able to experience all of these.  I’m excited to see what God has planned for our children’s ministry this spring season.  With all of the preparing for a Children’s Musical, Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, and Kids Camp, this will allow God to move in great ways during these upcoming events! 

Please check out the different upcoming events shown at the bottom of this article to plan your spring and summer calendar for your families.  We have several ways for adults to plug in and serve along with great fun and spiritual growth for your children.  Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding these events.

We ended our Upward season with a spectacular Celebration Night at Central High School with approximately 800 in attendance.  We had trophies, cheerleading routines, and magic.  Everyone in attendance seemed to really enjoy themselves.  I want to say “Thank You” to everyone that gave of their time, prayers, efforts and love this Upward season.  We were able to minister to 214 children along with their families.  Some of them have even visited our worship services.  This is a great community outreach that touches so many lives in a positive way and we couldn’t have done this without the help from everyone involved.
