September 2016 Kid's Happenings

Hello Church Family,

We have ended what seems to have been a very quick summer that was packed full with so many opportunities for our church to reach out to others and to grow spiritually.  Mission trips, Camps, VBS, block parties, and fellowships, along with each families own obligations can make everyone ready to be back to something “normal” and “routine”.  Well, within children’s ministry we will have just that “routine”.

To add to our regular Sunday morning routine we will have several other ways for you to help your child grow spiritually and enjoy time with friends.  Starting September 7th we will kick off AWANA from 6-7:30pm every Wednesday evening.  This is a great weekly opportunity and resource for parents to work with their children at home to learn bible scripture and how to apply it to their daily walk.  At club children play games, learn about Gods truth during large group, and have the option to recite their newly learned scripture back to their leaders.  They are awarded with patches and jewels as they journey through their books learning Gods word.

Another opportunity for the whole family is once a month Growth Initiative classes.  While parents are attending the classes offered by our pastors the children will have movie nights on Fridays and take part in Kids Worship Praise on Saturdays.  On Fridays the kids are invited to come in their p.j.s and bring their pillows as we chill out and watch movies with popcorn.  Saturday mornings will consist of recreation, healthy snacks, service projects, and learning worship songs.  These same children that attend on Saturday will have the option to co-lead worship the following Sunday morning in 9:30 & 11am service.

I pray parents prioritize their families schedules with time to nurture your children's spiritual growth and make these new opportunities part of your new “routine”.  Proverbs 22:6  Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Thank you for the opportunity to love on your children.
