Kids Happenings May 2016

Hello Church Family,

Summertime is here!!!  As much as I love having our normal schedules within our
children’s ministry… I look forward to a break in the weekly repetition.  The month of May can be very busy for our families.  Field trips, class parties, graduations, ballgames etc.  I’m a mom and completely understand that we just get worn out and overwhelmed with everything that is going on in our children’s lives and look forward to a break that sometimes may seem to never come.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the world’s worst mom when it comes to over committing
myself and my family.  Moms and dads when you commit yourself and your children to things and you have that sickness in your stomach telling you that you need to say “no” because there is already so much to be done… May I suggest that you ask yourselves these three questions before you say “yes” or “no”.   (This may also be something you may want to reevaluate with your present commitments).

  • Will this commitment compromise our daily walk with our Lord and Savior?
  • Will this commitment have a lasting impact on my families spiritual well being?
  • How will my family glorify God through this commitment?

Proverbs 22:6 tells parents,  train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.  I pray this summer each of us are choosing wisely to commit our children and ourselves in a way that is pleasing to Him and not of this world.  Thank you for the opportunity to love on your kiddos.

God Bless,

April
