Gobbler Gathering
For over 100 years, the Evansville Rescue Mission has hosted an annual Thanksgiving food giveaway which now provides more than 2,000 families with a free food basket. This includes a turkey and other essentials for a complete dinner. Over 1,000 volunteers assist in this event.
This year, Oakhill has been asked to collect canned green beans. Last year we collected 1,133 cans and our goal is 1,200 cans this year. The entire family can be involved in this. We will begin collecting on Sunday, October 19th and the deadline is Sunday, November 16th. The cans may be left in the Lobby near the entry.
